The ECS Brokerage Event, which will return to Brussels on 4&5 February 2026 at a new venue location: The EGG, Brussels. The event combines the brokerage activities of the industry associations AENEAS, EPoSS and INSIDE into one networking event dedicated to project proposals for the new Chips JU Calls 2026. This event gathers the ECS community around project ideas, allowing it to network, build consortia and start creating project proposals.

This side event will focus on the key outcomes of the Horizon Europe ICOS CSA aimed at strengthening International Cooperation on Semiconductors for European economic resilience.The session will perform an assessment of Strengths and Weaknesses across the semiconductor value chains within EU and in leading semiconductor countries, and identify priority research topics for international cooperation. Registration is free but mandatory.

EFECS 2025 – the European Forum for Electronic Components and Systems – will take place on 3–4 December 2025 at the Hilton Hotel in St Julian’s, Malta. As the annual meeting point for the Chips JU community, EFECS provides a unique platform open to all public and private stakeholders. It is the place to share achievements and success stories, exchange insights and gather feedback and strengthen collaboration across the full ECS value chain. EFECS 2025 is organised by the Chips JU with the support of AENEAS, EPoSS, and INSIDE.

On 2022, the European Union and Singapore concluded a new Digital Partnership which reflects the commitment of the two parties to advance cooperation and boost the digital transition. To reinforce the cooperation a research Forum has been organized in Brusseles on July 8-9. The ICOS project will partecipate on the European side.

A special sessione dedicated to the ICOS project has taken place in Napoli in the afternoon of June 25, in occasion of the yearly meeting of SIE (Società Italiana di Elettronica). Presentations, part in presence and part online, have informed the audience on the results of the project, on the established international cooperations and on the international status of research on semiconductors.

In June 2023, South Korea and the European Commission established the Korea-EU Digital Partnership to enhance cooperation and economic resilience in the digital realm.
As part of efforts to strengthen ties after a first Forum held in Brussels in March Marzo 2024, a second Forum on Semiconductors has been organized for June 16 2025 in the Jeju Island in Korea. The ICOS project participates for Europe.

This year’s ESBS-Austria spring event will focus on ’Artificial Intelligence’ and will be introduced with a keynote speech by Gustav Kalbe, Acting Director of DG Connect, and a presentation by Jeanette Gorzala, Vice Chair of the AI Advisory Board Austria. These presentations will be followed by a panel discussion on Edge AI as one of Europe’s strengths with experts from the industry.

ICOS is pleased to announce that the side Workshop during the EUROSOI-ULIS Conference in Warsaw on May 12-13th 2025 has been a success. The Workshop has covered the following topics:
- International economic analysis and gaps in value chains,
- Critical needs for future technologies,
- Research topics and frameworks for international cooperation,
- Standardisation in emerging technologies.
The Smart Systems Integration Conference is organized in Prague on April 8-10. The conference is covering the value chain from System on Chip via System in Package to System Applications – including hardware and software aspects. The conference connects participants from academia and industry as well as policy and decision makers. The three-day event is commonly organized by Fraunhofer ENAS together with the European Association on Smart Systems Integration–EPoSS to link technology and policy aspects in one event, while Silicon Saxony technically supports the conference organization.

The yearly information and networking event on the calls of the Chips JU, organized by AEIT and Chips Mirror Group Italy, has taken place on April 1st 6 2025 in Rome, hosted by Confindustria. The 2025 activities of the Chips JU, including calls for projects, Pilot Lines and Competence Centres, have been presented by A. Chichkov, Acting Head of Programmes and Communication of the Chips JU. Financial support to the calls has been illustrated by the representatives of MUR and MIMIT. Other Italian initiatives in support of the European Chips Act have been the topic of specific talks. During the AEIT2024 International Annual Conference 2024, which took place in Trento, on September 25-27, two special sessions have been dedicated to European programmes for Semiconductors and Photonics, in the afternoon of the 27th. A Workshop, jointly organised by ICOS with the INPACE project and the SiNANO Institute, has taken place in Bruges on Sept 9. morning (9:30-13:00). The theme of the Workshop was: “ Emerging technologies in Advanced Computation, Advanced Functionalities, Ground-breaking Technologies: Impact on International Cooperation”.
